You can listen to Scott Stapp's interview with KS95 in Minneapolis.
Moon & Staci
Moon: KS95 - The station that defines variety, '80's, '90's and today. Staci and I get to talk to a lot of celebrity types and it's a lot of fun. But this time we've decided to just kinda not be a part of this Scott Stapp thing. We want to actually step out of the room when this is about to occur
Staci: Because you do the interview and our interviewer today is Mandy Magetta.
Mandy: Hi Scott. Thanks for having me Moon and Staci
Scott: What's up? Glad to meet you, glad you're here.
Mandy: Great to meet you too. I'm so excited. Here's my list of questions that I have for you. I won the contest based on these questions. So, hopefully we can get through them without it to painful for you.
Scott: Awesome. How'd they do that? Did you have to submit your questions and..
Mandy: I did
Scott: ...they called you guys back and..
Mandy: I submitted in the email and they called me yesterday, caught me off guard (Scott laughs). I was so thrilled, so here we are today.
Scott: Cool
Mandy: So you ready?
Scott: Yeah, I'm ready. Shoot.
Mandy: Is your new solo album considered a Christian album.
Scott: No, it's not actually. You know a lot of people thought, and it had rumored around that Creed was a Christian band, and we weren't. Spirituality is an aspect of my life. I mean I'm a Christian, personally. It's something that inspires me at various times to write music.
Mandy: Do you feel that your Creed fans will still be happy with your new music?
Scott: Oh, definitely. You know I wrote the songs in Creed. That sound is gonna come with me because it's my sound, you know.
Mandy: Could we hear one of those hits from you?
Scott: Yeah, yeah, we'll play. Actually Creed's Greatest Hits is coming out the middle of November. I'm set up here so is Higher alright?
Mandy: That sounds fantastic
Scott: Yeah, alright. Well let's play Higher for ya.
Moon: You know it's great to have the two of you here and this song acoustically I think is gonna be great. Scott Stapp, Mandy Magetta you do the interview on KS95.
Scott sings Higher acoustically
Applause
Moon: There you go
Mandy: That was fantastic.
Scott: Thank you
Mandy: It gives me chills to hear it live
Scott: Thank you
Mandy: How is becoming a father changed either your path in the music business or either the path that you're headed down now. Has that changed you?
Scott: Oh, definitely, definitely. I think, you know, every parent out there can say that when they have kids it changes your life in a lot of ways. For me, you know, I think this affected Creed and why we're not together as well because, you know I wanted to spend more time at home and I wanted to be a father that was involved in his sons life and, you know just tour during the summers. At the time, the other guys couldn't relate, you know they didn't have kids and it definitely changed how I approached my lifestyle, you know like in terms of it was time to grow up and you know, you are setting an example, everything you do your kids learn and see.
Mandy: Okay, this is the last question for you.
Scott: Alright
Mandy: I know it's the most important for all the single ladies out there. Are you single?
Scott: Yes I am, yes I am. Unfortunately I got divorced in '98 and, but yes I am single. You know it's weird, you know I think a lot of people would assume that you know, I wouldn't have any problems meeting ladies and women and I don't have a problem meeting people, it's just having time to build a relationship and especially with having my son, I really made a commitment to myself and to him, 'cause I love him so much, that you know I don't want him to see me dating until I know this women is someone that I'm serious with and that I could spend the rest of my life with 'cause you know I don't want him to get attached to someone and get his little heart broken and so I am single and looking.
Mandy: I might know of a couple girls to set you up with
Scott: Hey
Mandy: So, hey
Scott: Hey, you'll, we'll have to trade info, we have to make sure we get that. I'll definitely do that. Definitely, I'm always open to that.
Mandy: Well, thank you so much Scott this was a fantastic opportunity and thanks Moon and Staci for having me.
Scott: Thank you
Moon: Well, you know it's our pleasure. Mandy thank you so much for doing the interview for us.
Staci: Very good interview. You've got a future my dear in TV, I think.
Moon: Now, if you haven't heard Scott's song from The Passion of the Christ. Here is Relearn Love with Moon and Staci at KS95.
